In Northern Ireland your real friends will not be far away at election time. You will see them often at this time of the 'hunting season' but never their principals I.e. those who give them their orders. Their principals are the people who they really worship and adore as a churchgoer worships the risen Christ.
Therein lies the real dilemma of post-conflict Ireland. Nobody in politics has any time for the churches. They blame them collectively for the Troubles. Even Richard Boyd-Barrett could realise that fact of life in the North because he had good contacts amongst the only people who tell the truth in the North, the Presbyterians.
NEVER vote for a candidate who has the potential to do you and your family great harm. Those people spread rumours and rely on gossip for their information. That advice rules out those whose offices are near public houses or gambling establishments.
Never therefore vote for a journalist , former constituency worker or social worker or their family members. They are the people who spread rumours and gossip with the tip of a tumbler or beer glass.
In England,do not vote for hardened military officers who have seen service overseas. They will try to get your family members into trouble with the police and soldiers if you do not pander to their prejudices or if you reject their demands for mutual support.It follows,do not invite a former soldier or paramilitary into your home. They will spread ruin and chaos and endeavour to get you to act against your best interests. They are well known for sending people off on a wild goose chase because their first instinct is to hurt and kill.
At election time,your true friends keep you to their right. They are neither police agents nor political spies. The business population fake true association because they have made money out of you and hope to make more money. Those 'friends' rule by fooling as the canny Scots,Dutch and Swiss know.

Do not vote for a woman under any circumstances because she will be a bent and twisted person who idolises her family and is not used to harsh demands being made on her time or limitted abilities and few talents. Remember, people who go into politics are basically seeking attention for themselves. If they are on the left they will be covetous of others possessions. Punters, remember,it was a French woman,George Sand,who inspired Marx to write The Communist Manifesto.
Any woman in politics develops into a certain type of female dominatrix but she is in truth a mere yakking bird who brings both herself and others to ruin. Her husband and personal secretary are the first to feel the brunt of her anger when she falls from grace.
All female politicians' careers end in tears when their political lives are brought to the inevitable untimely conclusion.
To repeat,the first target of any female politician is her most fervent supporters. She often has them imprisoned for not pandering to her whims or according her the respect she claims she is entitled to as a public figure. A woman never realises that she is only a workhorse put in place by others to fulfill their demands for money or power and control of other people's assets. And that is the key to women in politics or a pattern of reverse psychology.
