It is the Orangeman's and average member of the Royal Black Preceptory's lot to be forever an outsider looking in (and the IRA is no different).
Like all secret or semi-secret organisations, knowledge is carefully husbanded by the Chosen Few and the 'dirty work' is left to the rank-and-file. This happens in every hierarchical organisation which is democratically organised.
It would be an egregious error to imagine that every Orangeman is an out-and-out bigot but try as they might "the truth comes out in the end-up".
