The different models of kingship. The clan-king and the Philosopher King (20/2/17)

The two main sorts of chieftaincy are the Jewish/Celtic Clan warrior king and the Greek Philosopher King. However, Solomon was a wise king and Alexander a warrior king.

In modern times representative democracy and a president have taken the place of both types of king.

As St Paul writes, “The Jews want miracles and the Greeks want knowledge”.

As modernism fades, old forms of government have crashed back on to the stage of world history.

Democracy too will fade.

The notion of a clan king brings to mind visions of gold (Sp. real),(G. riail, reim),(Ar. Riyal),(Farsi, real) but in fact that is where there is no similarity between primitive communism which prevailed in almost all countries up until 600 BC apart from Mesopotamia and China.

The Celtic clan-king or chieftain lived in a straw hut like all other members of the gens and was given the place of honour at banquets and in politics, law and warfare.

There was gold ornamentation but no currency in Celtic lands.

No currency, no Capital. The question of a Universal Equivalent is always problematic for those of  us who aim for and aspire to work for the end of capitalism and ever increasing exploitation and police-medical terrorism funded by the state, imperialism and The City of London.

This was primitive communism.

It should always be remembered that when the ancients used terms like king they did not imply primogeniture rather merit as we would see in someone of great standing.
